About Our Studio

Skibin & Skibin was founded by Alexey and Yuri Skibin, drawing on more than two decades of practice in landscape design and implementation.

We grew up in a family of geologists, spent our school years on field expeditions, and learned to read landscape before we learned to design it. That background — understanding terrain, soil, and natural systems from the inside — shapes how we approach every project.

The aesthetic inspiration came from the mountain landscapes of northeastern Eurasia: scale, austerity, and quiet force. Not decorative, but structural. Not for the eye alone, but for how people actually inhabit a place.

We spent years working with private clients, then shifted deliberately toward residential development — wanting the work to reach not one household, but whole neighbourhoods. Over time, we helped define what landscape design could mean within large-scale housing in St. Petersburg.

In 2022 we moved to Slovenia. We now work with developers and private clients across Slovenia, Serbia, and beyond — bringing the same approach to new ground.
